She then moved to Victoria Legal Aid and appeared in family law, family violence and criminal matters as well as taking on a managerial role and simultaneously having conduct of trials in the County and Supreme Courts and Court of Appeal. She then joined James Dowsley and Associates, criminal law specialists, where she was the senior solicitor advocate until coming to the Bar in 2011. Likewise in that role whilst appearing daily in the Magistrates and County Courts she had the conduct of trials in the County and Supreme Courts and Court of Appeal.
Victoria read with Andrew G Robinson and her senior mentor is Mark Rochford SC. Also, she is a current participant in the Magistrate to Barrister mentoring program offered by the Magistrates Court of Victoria and the Association of Women Barristers.
