List Update - July 2020

Hi All,

I would firstly like to say that during this very trying and unpredictable time, I hope all of you are staying safe and healthy, doing your best to abide by social distancing and personal hygiene expectations to avoid being contaminated or contaminating others, but most importantly, that you are doing your best to remain positive throughout this ordeal. My best wishes.

I would secondly like to address our ambitions prior to this event and how significantly they coincide with our current predicament. We have been tirelessly working on developing and delivering a diary for the List that is easily accessible and functionally coherent.

We now have that Diary available to all of the Barristers at Patterson's List. We then extended on this by incorporating the ability to access finances where fees can be written up and delivered immediately to the accounts clerks, where outstanding invoices can be tracked and monitored with the addition of an in-built message system to alert the accounts clerks of which invoices needed enquiry.

We now also have this available. Finally, we have been putting into place, the development and implementation of E-Brief; a system that will allow solicitors and barristers to transfer and update briefs, files and paperwork all without the slow and costly process of printing and posting/hand delivering these documents. Now more than ever, this feature is becoming a necessity for the entire legal industry.

This pandemic has forced many of us to work remotely and it is posing a very real threat to the functionality and accessibility of our office. In the event that a forced isolation should occur, we have the tools and software implemented to ensure that the workflow does not cease and that barristers will be able to continue practicing with as minimal interference as possible. We expect this to be a very simple and streamline transition and you can be certain that we will do everything within our ability to assist and educate wherever necessary. We would encourage everyone to explore these new systems that we have in place and help to be an integral part in spreading the word of our new E-Brief initiative.

You can find the E-Brief signup and in addition, our Barrister Online Booking Request form at pattersonslist.com.au.

Should anyone  have any further enquiries please do not hesitate to call me.

Thank you so much and we cannot tell you how much we appreciate all of your support during this difficult time.
