John Sutton practices principally as a trial lawyer in all areas of criminal law especially matters involving complex factual, medical, mental health or scientific issues. He also conducts an appellate practice.Prior to coming to the Victorian Bar he has had many years experience as a Solicitor Advocate both in Victoria and other jurisdictions. He is a former Principal Solicitor of the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and the Fitzroy Legal Service. He read with His Honour Judge Gavan Meredith of the Victorian County Court.
