Gina Liano
Admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1999 (Bar Roll No. 3303), Gina has over 25 years of experience, predominantly practicing in the Family Division of the Children’s Court. She regularly appears in mentions, directions hearings, readiness hearings, and contested hearings, having conducted thousands of contested matters and run back-to-back trials throughout her career.
Gina spent many years prosecuting for the Child Protection Litigation Office (CPLO) before moving into private practice in 2009, where she established a family law division within a commercial firm. She later returned to the Bar, bringing with her extensive experience in child protection, family law, and criminal matters.
In addition to her substantial Children’s Court practice, Gina appears in courts of summary jurisdiction for contested hearings, bail applications, and pleas. She has also represents clients in the County Court and Magistrates’ Court for pleas and sentencing. Her experience includes appearing in intervention order matters, including breaches of intervention orders. Gina is well experienced for roles requiring an Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL), all parenting matters in the family court and she has a strong focus on best interests advocacy in complex family and child protection cases.
