Thomas Bevan

Prior to signing the Bar Roll, Thomas L Bevan was Associate to the Honourable Justice Byrne of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Head of the Commercial and Equity Division.

He is currently involved in two appeals to the Supreme Court on a question of law:

• Ellis v Caine
• Hemingway v Hamilton

and one appeal to the Court of Appeal in Berengo v Menelle.

The matter of Hemingway v Hamilton was reported in the press.

He also tutors postgraduate students in Melbourne University's Juris Doctor degree at Ormond College. He has tutored in Obligations (Contracts), Civil Procedure and Property.Before embarking on a legal career, Thomas worked as a software developer and business analyst on projects in a variety of industries including banking, telecommunications and logistics.
