Angelo Bartzis
Angelo practices in all manner of court work and appeals with a solid focus on commercial law. Since being called to the bar, he has gained significant familiarity with the County and Supreme Courts. Angelo is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
He has a particular interest in interlocutory applications (including security of costs and joinder), contractual disputes, technology law, international commercial law, property disputes, commercial negotiation, ADR, building and construction, misrepresentation and unconscionable conduct (ACL) and general VCAT matters.
During his years in private practice, he acted and advised on a wide array of commercial matters (both litigious and non-litigious) at both CBD and suburban law firms.
Before being called to the bar, Angelo worked as senior corporate counsel for 10 years in international technology companies, developing a broad commercial practice (including ADR). He has acquired a deep empathy for the real needs and pressures facing corporate businesses.
In addition, Angelo has also worked for government at the Bureau of Meteorology, having advised and acted in a broad range of high level commercial matters, most notably being the Federal Government's acquisition and supply to state government of radars (and related technologies) valued at in excess of $35 million for a period of 10 years.
Angelo also instructs at Leo Cussen Centre for Law in the areas of Trusts, Aquisitions and Sales of Business, Leases, Company Practice and Banking and Finance (Securities) and also assesses in the areas of Banking & Finance and Guarantees.
A proud Fellow of the International Strategic Studies Association, headquartered in Washington DC, he is also a member of the Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association.
Angelo is an accredited NMAS Mediator.
