Shannon accepts briefs as an Accredited Mediator and to advise and appear in commercial and public law, and also accepts briefs in criminal law matters. She is available to appear in all metropolitan and regional courts.
Shannon is a sessional academic at Deakin University, teaching Evidence Law. She has previously taught Legal Research, Torts Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Family Law and Constitutional Law.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Shannon was Associate to the Commercial Division Judicial Registrars at the County Court of Victoria. As an Associate, she gained significant experience assisting the Judicial Registrars in all interlocutory matters, as well as a number of civil trials. Shannon also assisted in the operation and management of the Expedited Cases List and the Self Represented Litigant List.
Shannon graduated with First Class Honours from the Bachelor of Laws in 2016, and was awarded academic prizes in Torts Law and Advanced Commercial Law.
Shannon worked as a Registered Nurse from 2007 to 2019, and hold qualifications in nursing and chronic diseases. She has extensive clinical experience in metropolitan and country health care, including working as a renal nurse in the remote Northern Territory. She has a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease and pathology, health interventions and pharmacology, and healthcare systems.
