Todd Kovacic signed the bar roll in September 2010.
Todd maintains a diverse practice, with extensive experience criminal law, family law and family violence, and motor vehicle accident. He also appears regularly before VCAT and other tribunals and Commissions.
He practices predominately in family law (including family violence and IVO)/PSIO, crime, motor vehicle crashes and VCAT. Todd served in the Tasmania Police Force as a police officer for 17 years, practising criminal and administrative law since 1999, initially as a police prosecutor. He then commenced practice in NSW for the Roads & Traffic Authority, specialising in prosecutions for heavy road transport. His experience in law enforcement has proved invaluable to his clients, particularly in the areas of IVO/PSIO, family and criminal law.
He has extensive experience as a criminal lawyer in a wide variety of matters in the Magistrate’s, County and Supreme Courts, including his role as Senior Solicitor for the Roads & Traffic Authority (NSW).
Todd has appeared regularly in the Magistrates’ Courts, County Courts and Supreme Court on a wide range of matters including bail, sentence breaches, pleas, appeals, hearings and trials. He has experience in a wide range of matters including Liquor Licensing and Racing Commission matters.
Being part of an in-house government legal practice, Todd gained experience in admin law, IP, MVA (including heavy transport) and freedom of information.
Todd also appears regularly in the appellate court as lead counsel.
